Cambodian Cookbook
A Khmer home-cooking title in sandstone and gold leaf — a cuisine that survived by memory, documented before more of it is lost.

The challenge
Khmer cooking is older than Angkor and was very nearly lost within living memory — a cuisine carried in heads and hands, built on prahok and palm sugar, with far less written down than its neighbours. Documenting it is part preservation, part teaching: get the foundations right, and don't take the shortcuts that cost the flavor.
The approach
The design system is sandstone and gold leaf — traditional Khmer motifs, kbach ornament, lotus arches and Angkor stonework, warm and reverent without tipping into pastiche. It sits on the same shared chassis as the rest of the network: statically rendered, region and era taxonomies, pantry and equipment references, cook mode. Foundations lead; the recipes build from there, the way a Khmer kitchen teaches.
The result
A respectful, genuinely useful reference for a cuisine that badly needed one — 64 recipes across eight regions, seven chapters and ten eras. Deployed and ready; the client will layer in their own photography over our design. Designed, built, and operated by us.
